In this talk I would like to tell about my experience participating on a free and open source local community. During my studies on my University I could detect a low incentive to use and contribute to FOSS from teachers. And this situation is continuing until today.
In this context, in 2019, I decided to create a open source community on my city to try to incentivate the use and contribute to free and open source projects to IT students. We met once a month, we create groups on social media and we are searching projects to start contribute like a community. Sadly, we never agree with which projects work and the interest declined in some members of this group. So, in my humble opinion the results obteined could be releated to a social issue due to education on my city.
My audience could be all the people that are interest on the social problematic of the use of Open source. This is not a technical talk, this could be a debate of this problematic and a brainstorm.
